Tips in our Area of Expertise
Avoid forcibly powering off your computer. This can corrupt data because your computer will not have time to finish writing to the hard drive.
Defrag your hard drives – The defragmentation utility allows you to sort data on the hard drive sequentially; thereby eliminating wasted disk space. It also allows for faster access time, thereby increasing the computer performance
Clean your hard drives – Disk cleanup allows you to delete unnecessary files such as temporary files, downloaded office files, temporary program files and recycle bin. Hard drives should be replaced every three years to control downtime and prevent unexpected failures.

Are You in the Cloud?
Most businesses understand the importance of ensuring the security of their hardware and data. Sometimes, however, unforeseen circumstances leave us scrambling. Inclement weather, file corruption, and even theft could cause the undesirable effect of your site being down. In other words, your customers may find themselves unable to fuel.
If an unexpected event occurred, would you be in a position to quickly get your site back up? With a total loss of hardware and/or data, restoration of business could take a long time, as it is similar to an install from scratch. This would likely involve contacting an IT professional in addition to Triple E.
Triple E Technologies offers a solution – the Intronis cloud backup. When you sign up for the cloud backup, your data is automatically backed up to an off-site server nightly. In the event of a lost site controller or corrupt database, Intronis cloud backup enables Triple E to quickly restore your data and get your customers fueling again.
Information and Troubleshooting Tips
Synchronization – How Does It Work? If you have a Synchronization Server, chances are you’ve wondered how the whole process works.
Here is a description of Triple E Technologies Synchronization (also known as OneTouchSync):
-
Synchronization is the sending and receiving of data from many locations to one central location for storage and to maintain data integrity between locations.
-
Synchronization with Triple E Technologies requires a central server (called the Synchronization Server or Home Office computer) and any number of individual site computers.
-
The Synchronization Server stores all of the Customer and Card data, including any tax exemptions, special discounts or other pricing, product restrictions, etc.
-
All of these elements synchronize (send out) to the individual site computers on a schedule that is defined either by you or by the default intervals (five minutes is the default).
-
One thing to keep in mind when modifying your Customer or Card data is that you are only able to change or add these elements at the Synchronization server level. If you attempt to change any of this data at the site computer level, an error will be logged.
-
The individual site computers that receive Sales data from either a Triple E or other POS system, Pedestal or CRIND synchronize this data (send out) to the Synchronization Server.
-
The Synchronization Server then stores the Sales data from each individual site computer for ease of reporting, exporting, etc.
-
Each site has its own identity (site name) that groups the sales to each site location.
-
Synchronization is customizable
-
Triple E can start or stop the synchronization of any element in the synchronization pool: Customers, Customer Drivers and Vehicles, Customer Pricing, Gift Cards, Private Cards, Private Card Restrictions, and Sales data
-
Triple E can define new synchronization elements if required. Ex: Fuel prices when all synchronized computers will have the same fuel pricing every day
-
Synchronization is easily turned off by right-clicking the OneTouchSync icon in the lower right-hand corner of the site computer and selecting “Exit”
-
Synchronization can be manually started by right-clicking the OneTouchSync icon in the lower right-hand corner and selecting “Manual Sync”
-
A log of each synchronization attempt can be viewed by right-clicking the OneTouchSync icon in the lower right-hand corner and selecting “View Synchronization Log”
