Incidents of Ransomware on the Rise

Hospitals, school districts, state and local governments, law enforcement agencies, small businesses, large businesses—these are just some of the entities impacted recently by ransom ware, an insidious type of malware that encrypts, or locks, valuable digital files and demands a ransom to release them.

The inability to access the important data these kinds of organizations keep can be catastrophic in terms of the loss of sensitive or proprietary information, the disruption to regular operations, financial losses incurred to restore systems and files, and the potential harm to an organization’s reputation.

EMV: Triple E has successfully deployed test sites with EMV!

Triple E Technologies, LLC (Triple E), has received EMV certification from Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express, and now has successfully run multiple live EMV chip-card transactions (see above: Four Star Supply Inc. running EMV chip-card transaction).

Triple E is the first company to become EMV certified with NBS, a provider of payment processing solutions for convenience stores, travel centers, and unattended cardlock sites. Triple E developers worked closely with NBS and performed hundreds of tests to ensure the software passed all EMV’s requirements.

How did you hear of Triple E Technologies?
We started the search online for a local company that could support our fuel stations and POS needs and found Triple E Technologies. We immediately liked the POS system and the fact that the offices of Triple E were so close to ours, just over an hour away.

What did you use before Triple E?
We had a few different technologies in place. Our POS was mainly AgVantage and Ruby, our fuel systems were run by Gasboy and Cardtrol programs.

How are the products and services working for you?
We love how easy the technology is to work with. Upgrades are relatively seamless and hardly interrupt the business flow. We feel like the system is always current, and the staff at Triple E is trained well and is always willing to resolve issues quickly.

Doug Butts has been with Triple E Technologies for little over 2 years. He is a production engineer and does building maintenance.

He has been married for seven years, and he and his wife have three grown kids. They moved to the Pacific Northwest little over six years ago from California. Doug enjoys spending time with family and friends. He also enjoys helping people as much as he can. He helps co-lead his bible study home group, and shortly, he will start working in his church’s children’s ministry.

He also likes the outdoors, hiking, walking, swimming, and going to the movies. During the fall and winter he likes watching football.
