Only 1 in 5 Cards Are Prepared for EMV Shift

​ARLINGTON, VA – Retailers have spent billions upgrading their point-of-sale systems to process new chip cards ahead of the looming Oct. 1 liability shift deadline. As of July, approximately 295,000 merchants are ready to receive chip cards — a 19% bump from June’s compliance numbers. In addition, nearly 37,000 ATMs have EMV chip-readability.

Logging Into Your Computer:

When locked out of your Navigator Site Controller, Pioneer, Sentinel Navigator and/or Vanguard POS system (because of a power outage etc.), the site operators will need to log in.

Since the password will need to be changed every 90 days to maintain PCI compliance, make sure that the site operators and/or employees know the current login information.

If you are sure that you are using the correct user name and password:
  • Make sure the caps lock is off – passwords are case sensitive.
  • Make sure your number lock is on – most passwords will contain at least one numeric value.
  • If you are on the POS and you are typing a letter but a symbol shows up instead, press the FN then F11 key on the keyboard.
If you have had three consecutive incorrect login attempts but your site is running, wait 25 minutes and try again.  PCI Compliance and password usage:
