Fuel Efficiency Reaches Record High
Cars and trucks sold last month averaged 24.9 miles per gallon in fuel economy, nearly five miles per gallon higher than in October 2007.
September 12, 2013
DETROIT – A new University of Michigan study reveals the auto industry reached a high for the average miles per gallon of new vehicles, the New York Times reports. For all cars and trucks sold last month, the average fuel economy was 24.9 miles per gallon, nearly five miles per gallon higher than the 20.1 m.p.g. recorded in October 2007, when the university’s Transportation Research Institute began tracking the data. The higher ratings reflect an industry focus on increasing fuel efficiency to meet federal standards for corporate average fuel economy, or CAFE, as well as an increase in the number of hybrid and electric vehicles. The data indicates that automakers are on pace to meet interim goals agreed to with the Obama administration.

Triple E Technologies, LLC Going Beyond PCI Compliance

Customized software solutions industry leader for c-stores and fueling sites takes vendor responsibility seriously.
PCI 1.2 compliant and NBS certified in 2011, and CHS certified in 2012, Triple E Technologies has been touted by Cenex affiliates as “best solution to interface with 3rd party back office billing”. However, not content with merely retaining its certifications and upgrading its product line to be PCI 2.0 compliant by October. 2013, Triple E has raised the bar on our own internal ways of doing business.
To better respond to future PCI requirements and general business demands, Triple E has implemented enhanced work policies, processes and procedures which not only are themselves PCI compliant, but are fully compliant with such rigorous software development industry standards as SANS and CERT.
By example, company practice specifically prescribes how technicians will access a customer site remotely to ensure both the customer and Triple E remain PCI compliant throughout the process. Likewise, company programming and testing practices not only meet PA-DSS requirements, but require software developers to comply with SANS and CERT coding and data security standards.
“For Triple E Technologies, PCI compliant products are only the beginning of responsible POS system development,” stated Dan Eloe, Triple E General Manager. “Every one of our company business practices must wholly support that compliance, and take advantage of the most stringent industry standards to ensure continued product integrity, reliability and value.”
Triple E Technologies LLC is dedicated to ‘Developing Tomorrow’s Solutions’.

Tips in our Area of Expertise

A sudden power loss or surge are two of the principle causes of damage to computers and other sensitive electronics. Even inexpensive power strips can do an adequate job protecting against the power surges, but they offer no protection against drops in line voltage, brownouts, blackouts and other power supply issues.
In order to protect your computer from power supply interruptions, you need a battery backup (Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS). UPS units provide a buffer against power supply interruptions ranging from a few minutes to an hour or more, depending on unit size.

We recommend that you install a UPS for your site. Also, if you have a site that has had recent lightning activity, you should also install a Lightning Protection product to protect your computers. Contact us if you have any questions, or would like to purchase these devices.
